AT YORK EXPLORE
Bugweed's Fabrics and Crafts Ltd is excited to bring The York Sewing Bee to York Fashion Week, with places for 10 dressmakers. Sewers are invited to come and make the Tilly and the Buttons pattern Arielle Skirt with other people who love fashion and dressmaking.
Patterns are available to be purchased before the event from Bugweed’s Fabrics and Crafts alongside a wide range of fabric and haberdashery to be used at the Bee. The skirt pattern can be adapted as dressmakers see fit to create the Arielle that is well constructed and shows detail and flair.
Sewing machines are available to hire at a cost of £5 for the day.
Patterns can be cut before the event but all other preparation is to be carried out on the day. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. Bring your own lunch and enjoy time to chat, share ideas and make new friends.
There are 3 guest judges - Antonia Houston from Antonia Houston Couture, Alyson Cowen from What’s to be done with her and Andrea Heaton from Littondale fabrics. At the end of the event the three judges will look for skirts that show careful construction, imaginative detail and a flair for something unique.
The star sewer will receive a £25 gift voucher to spend at Bugweed’s fabrics and crafts.
Book your place through Eventbrite and we look forward to seeing you there!
