Angela Horner


Associate Director at Browns Department Store in York specifically delivering Sales and Customer Service training and working on enhancing the customer experience in the stores. The store was founded by Angela’s Great, Great Grandfather Henry Rhodes Brown in 1896. Angela began her career at Browns in 1994 as Personnel Manager and later as Personnel Director for Browns’ four stores.

As the Chairperson of Fashion City York, she is passionate about York and fashion and is keen to engage with retailers, fashion students, Photographers, designers, museums…the more diversity the better!


Nicky Hayer

Head of Marketing

MD of Nima, a marketing company based in York, and now head of marketing within Fashion City York. After moving to York to work in Events and Sales within Bettys Café Tearooms, Nicky established NIMA in 2015.

NIMA covers all things marketing and branding including Brand Story, Website Design, Marketing Strategy, PR and Social Media, and she’s been thrilled to bring these elements to the FCY project, as we work towards York Fashion Week.


Olivia Brabbs

Head of Media

Olivia is an experienced branding and commercial photographer based in central York.  She is renowned for her documentary style of photography which results in very authentic and natural images.  Her client list includes a range of Yorkshire and national brands.  As well as model images, her fashion photography often goes behind the scenes to designer’s studios, where she tells the story of the creativity and expertise that goes into a brand. 

Olivia has been the official photographer for the last couple of years for Fashion City York and this year joined the steering group as Head of Media.


Antonia Houston

Industry Expert

A fantastic designer whose passion for unique and creative design, made her a brilliant fit for the Fashion City York Steering Group.

Within the group Antonia has become a key figure in generating event ideas, nurturing concepts and spreading the word about York Fashion Week.


Sarah Sargent


In 2001, Sarah took herself to night school with her son to study Accountancy and once the family had left home, went to college and studied for her AAT qualification which she achieved in 2012. Now working for Boston House, she is the Treasurer for Fashion City York, and the perfect person to support in the growth of the brand, whilst never forgetting the bottom line!
